Whether they are candy stripers at the hospital, little league coaches or bone marrow donors, volunteers are the faces behind the gift of life. This year to highlight the 65th year of their work, The Puget Sound Blood Center has collected 65 photos and stories of people who have benefited from giving or receiving blood, tissue, or patient care at the Blood Center. Select artists have been asked to interpret that story in a work of art. Those works of art along with the photos and stories will be on display February 22-March 5 at Bellevue Square and then auctioned off at the Faces for Life Gala on March 6th. | | Bellevue Square Renovation An Urban Garden | | Urban Flavor + Garden Inspirations The redesign of Bellevue Square takes an iconic institution and transforms it into a contemporary piece of architecture in line with the other stellar properties in The Bellevue Collection. RTKL’s Urban Garden concept for The Square combines the best of the natural and urban worlds: a sleek, sophisticated, contemporary urban environment, softened by relaxing, organic, natural touches. The plan will reinvigorate important exterior components like street-front Fountain Court, and bring a new light, airy, natural feeling to the interior spaces. Building on its long-standing heritage as a favorite gathering place, Bellevue Square will strengthen The Collection’s status as the premier destination shopping/entertainment/hospitality resort in the Northwest.
Textures • Honed travertine in muted shades • State-of-the-art lighting • Graceful railings with open views • Water features and botanical elements • Modern, welcoming seating areas • Beautiful wood tones accenting the architectural lines • Uplifting, fresh, indoor-outdoor environment | | | Kids’ Cove | | As part of the Bellevue Square renovation, we have created a fabulous 3rd floor children’s play area -Kids Cove - above Center Court.
Parents, baby sitters and friends can watch the fun from a new seating area. Close by you’ll find new restrooms and child-related services. | |
