BAM Poetry Night: Camp Fires
Join us for an evening of eloquent spoken word performances combined with a rich visual experience. Poets from Gay City respond to the crafts, sculptures, and installations featured in Camp Fires which deploys the concept of Camp, not as a fixed attribute of specific objects, but as an inherently political Queer signifying practice, strongly associated with performative identity and with subversive appropriation. Gay City promotes wellness in LGBTQ communities by providing health services, connecting people to resources, fostering arts, and building community. Mingling and exhibition viewing opportunity begins at 6pm. Performances begin at 7pm. January 7.
$5/BAM members, $10/nonmembers (includes Museum admission). 6:30-8:30pm.
